The veil in the temple represented the veil that exists in the hearts and minds of every human being; the lie believed on by the world through Adam; that through our knowledge of good and evil, godliness and eternal life can be attained.
But what did God say of ‘this way’? "In the day you partake of that belief system you will surely die!"
This veil blinds men to the only source of true righteousness; the indwelling indestructible, incorruptible life of God. Every other form of righteousness, including the law of Moses, falls far short of the glory of this righteousness which comes from God himself.
The law of Moses was sent to us for the express purpose of revealing this lie to us; that our efforts to attain righteousness though the knowledge of good and evil (The Law of Sin and Death) we would only find condemnation, enmity and death.
Then Jesus, the justifier of the ungodly stepped in. Good news for us, for all have fallen short of 'His' glory! Yet, because of his great love for us all, He completely and successfully took away our sins on the cross and gave us his eternal life.
Believe on him. Die to the law of sin and death, the belief that you can find Godliness through your own knowledge of good and evil. — Die to the law for righteousness; and live only by the love of God as seen in the face of Christ when he forgave you on the cross!
This is exactly how Jesus lived and Paul himself lived. Listen —
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. (Galatians 2:20)
Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid. For if I build again the things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor.
For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God. (Galatians 2:16-19)
The carnal, religious mind will always seek to reconstruct the barrier, that wall of hostility, the veil that separates man from God in our minds. — You may want to reconsider doing that.
