Riding My Bike

I remember as a child, gowing up in Chalmette, Louisiana. What a place! This is where the Battle of New Orleans was fought! I was maybe 12 years old. I would ride my bike through the neighborhood. In innocence and truth (certainly in my mind); I was king of my world. I flew through the neighborhood on my bike, into and out of canals, through the woods and down every street. Nothing could harm or touch the king of the neighborhood, though dangers lurked around every corner. I feared nothing, nor was there anything to fear; so my navigation and awareness was keen and guarded my way. In innocence, fear doth not exist!

Now I am 67; riding my bike in my neighborhood. Flying through the streets, into and out of canals, (no woods), but still, king of my neighborhood! Though dangers lurk around every corner; innocent, and fearing nothing. -- Now more than ever!

For herein is innocence is found: Standing in Christ's love for you:

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.

Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord

And in this we find full confidence in life, even when facing death itself! For nothing can affect the indestructible life He has given us as a free gift!
